The 2020 Shelby Signature Series Ford Mustang features 825 horsepower.

Shelby Signs Off On Fitting Tribute To Texas Tuner

Carroll Shelby left quite a legacy on the motoring world and Shelby American has released a vehicle they feel is worthy of celebrating it all. Called the 2020 Carroll Shelby Signature Series Ford Mustang, the car was introduced on February 14th at the National Automobile Dealer Association Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to the company, the vehicle has been in development for the past two years with a close working relationship with the crew at Ford Performance to get it just right.

Upgrades & Changes

To make the cars distinct, widebody aluminum fenders are installed, making room for one-piece forged aluminum 20″x11″ Monoblock wheels. They can come either painted black or polished and are wrapped in performance tires and feature Ford Performance wheel studs. For a dialed-in ride, the vehicles come equipped with Ford’s Performance MagneRide handling pack.

Engine Upgrades

There’s also a functional ram air hood and unique front fascia, both of which help to keep things cool underhood. All that heat is coming from a Whipple supercharged 5.0-liter engine, which delivers a hard-charging 825 horsepower.

Extra cooling also comes from Shelby’s upgraded radiator, aluminum tank, and heat exchanger. A Borla exhaust system, equipped with custom tips is also installed. Shelby by Brembo brakes (6 piston front, 4 piston rear) are installed and cooled through Shelby’s exclusive brake and bearing duct cooling system.

Customers who select the automatic get upgraded transmission cooling while manual-equipped cars get a short-throw shifter. The drivetrain gets upgrades in the form of performance half shafts and for manual-equipped cars, a one-piece driveshaft.

Interior Changes

Inside, the cabin gets items like special floor mats, sill plates and a unique gauge cluster. A special ‘Snake Skin’ pattern design was developed with Katzkin and added to the seat inserts.

Pricing & Availablity

The entire run gets special badges and will be listed in the official Shelby Registry. Pricing for the vehicles will begin at $127,795 and will come with a 3 year/36,000-mile warranty. A couple of options are available for customers who want even more. Painted stripes, wide-body package and rear seat delete with a harness bar can all be had.

They’ll be available through Shelby’s network of dealers while a limited number will be built by select Shelby mod shops and distributors internationally.

With its performance capabilities, this Shelby is the automotive equivalent to a champion ultimate fighter who looks as good in a tux as he performs in the ring.”

As of now, Shelby American claims the vehicle is the ‘only sports car in the world available in new car dealer showrooms with a choice of convertible or fastback, automatic or manual transmission and 825 street legal horsepower.’
